Class one have been excited today. Mr Huxley was kind enough to bring us in a courgette plant and we have enjoyed looking at it closely through our magnifying glasses and talking about what we can see.
This afternoon the F2 children have been doing some observational drawings of the plant. We can’t wait to paint our drawings next week.
Find out what our F1 children get up to every Friday morning!
Class one have been very excited to see the firemen and fire engine today. Some of us got the chance to try on a fireman’s outfit and we also got to have a look inside the fire engine. The firemen explained what they do to help people (and animals!) and they showed us their ladders, hoses and ropes! We can’t wait for them to come back again already!
We have been so excited today to play in our new role play area. It is a farm complete with straw hats, waistcoats and wellies for us to wear. We also have a tractor and lots of farm animals plus a farm shop for us to buy fruit and vegetables from. We’ve had lots of fun!
What a fantastic start we have had to the new year. We’ve all come back happy and exited to get learning. We also have some new faces starting with us in our nursery so we would like to wish them and their families a big welcome to class one and Haggonfields school.
Our topic this half term is ‘The Farm.’ Have you been to a farm before? What is your favourite farm animal?
Here are some photographs of what we have got up to on our first week back to school.
Today the full time children have all written a letter or list to Santa. Afterwards we put our letters in an envelope and walked to the shop. We bought a stamp for each of our letters and we posted them in the letter box. We hope Santa receives them and gets us what we want for Christmas.
I wonder if Santa will reply to our letters?! Watch this space!
